SHAR-PEI WINS PETPLAN JUNIOR STAKES GRAND FINAL

'Witchgait Sounds Terrific' was announced the winner of the prestigious Petplan Junior Stakes Grand Final.

The Shar-Pei, Utility Group Winner from Southern Counties, beat off competitors from four qualifying heats around the country, and was awarded the top prize on Wednesday 19th January which was hosted at the Manchester Dog Show Society, at the New Bingley Hall in Stafford.

"I'm lost for words! I didn't think that he would win," said Witchgait's onwer, Sharon Sutherland, from Milton Keynes. "Petplan has ran an amazing day everyone's been very friendly and welcoming."

She continued, "The new qualifying format has been great; it's more exciting and I think you get a fairer representation of dogs. Now that I've won, I'm just going to keep spoiling him."

Petplan, the UK's favourite pet insurance provider, hosted 28 dogs vying for the winner's position of the annual format. The three judges this year, Steve Hall, Robin Searle and Carla Molinari awarded points based on Breed Type, Conformation and Movement. As with tradition for the Petplan Final, the judges also awarded extra points to top five the highest scoring dogs with 'Star Quality'.
